My Purpose Coalition Student Ambassador Experience

This is a guest blog by Jakub Cyrwus, a Purpose Coalition Student Ambassador who is studying Global Business at GBS.

My experience as a student ambassador with the Purpose Coalition has been all about building connections with other people: students and representatives of various businesses like Clyde & Co, Enterprise Mobility and Teleperformance. The role isn’t about giving speeches or being in the spotlight, it’s about helping build a bridge between students and the professional world by exchanging and sharing ideas and experiences.

I’ve had the chance and pleasure to participate in conversations that bring together students and businesses. Through the innovative Purpose Lab initiative, we talk about real issues - what it’s like to study and work today, the barriers we face, and what kind of support actually helps. It’s not just theory; it’s about trying to shape opportunities that make a difference.

I’ve learned that many students, like me, are balancing a lot: studies, work, and family life. Having an opportunity to share these experiences and address issues is vital to me. I believe that employers and business leaders can not only benefit from these opinions, but they will help lead to real change, whether it’s in recruitment, workplace culture, or how companies engage with young people.

One of most crucial aspects we discuss is inclusion, creating more opportunities for women and underrepresented groups. By sharing our lived experiences, we help push for environments where all people can feel valued and important. It’s about ensuring success isn’t limited to a select few but made possible for everyone, regardless of socio-economic background.

I’ve also realised that being an ambassador isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about seeking knowledge, looking for solutions, cooperation with others, being honest, and helping others feel seen and heard. I feel very happy and privileged to have this opportunity to participate in such an important project.
