Sally Jameson MP visits Ramsay UK’s Park Hill Hospital to see partnership working for better health outcomes in action

Labour MP for Doncaster Central Sally Jameson has visited Ramsay Health Care UK’s Park Hill Hospital in the city to see how the hospital delivers better health outcomes for local patients.

Born and raised in Doncaster, Sally was elected as the Labour MP for Doncaster Central in July’s General Election. Prior to her election, Sally was a Prison Officer, and in Parliament has already been appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary at the Ministry of Justice.

Park Hill Hospital is one of South Yorkshire’s leading independent healthcare providers, with an excellent reputation for high quality healthcare. The hospital is located on the site of the Doncaster Royal Infirmary, supporting Ramsay UK’s partnership working with the NHS, and has 17 bedrooms, and a four-bedded day care unit – all with ensuite facilities.

During the visit, Sally toured Park Hill with Hospital Director Joanne Bedford, and met with consultants, nurses and the staff team working at the hospital to deliver services to patients. The visit also provided an opportunity for Sally to see the investment made in advanced medical technology, and wide range of treatments on services on offer – including Park Hill’s fully equipped ultra clean air theatre, which is particularly suited for orthopaedic procedures, such as arthroscopy and hip and knee replacement.

Ramsay UK is a true partner to the NHS, with committed teams and leaders, making a valuable social impact to the communities they serve. In 2023, Ramsay UK launched their first Social Impact Report with the Purpose Coalition, and will publish a new 2025 report, showcasing the organisation’s progress early next year.

Following the visit, Park Hill Hospital Director Joanne Bedford said:

“It was wonderful to welcome our new local MP Sally Jameson to Park Hill and showcase our work to deliver for local patients.

“Working in partnership with the local NHS, we deliver the best possible care for our local patients in Doncaster, and across South Yorkshire. It was great to be able to show Sally our facilities, and I look forward to continuing to work with her to ensure local people get the care they need, when they need it.”

Sally Jameson MP, Labour MP for Doncaster Central said:

"As part of visits across my constituency it was a pleasure to visit Park Hill Hospital and meet the dedicated staff and leadership team who are working hard to deliver high-quality private care for patients in Doncaster. I was impressed by the hospital’s investment in advanced medical technology and its efforts to support the NHS through partnership working, particularly in addressing the demand for specialist treatments.”

Park Hill Hospital is run by Ramsay Health Care UK, one of the leading providers of independent hospital services in England, with a network of 34 hospitals. These provide a wide and comprehensive range of specialised and efficient clinical specialties from orthopaedics and general surgery to cardiac surgery and eye surgery.
