My experience as a Purpose Coalition Student Ambassador
A guest blog by Andre Bellevue, a Purpose Coalition Student Ambassador and an Electrical and Computer Engineering student at Liverpool Hope University.
As a Purpose Coalition Student Ambassador, I’ve had the opportunity to represent the youth by amplifying our voices and advocating for change within the corporate world.
Through this role I have been able to gain invaluable experiences that have not only significantly boosted my career employability but have also deepened my understanding of the corporate world.
Through my involvement, I’ve been able to explore how businesses are adapting to meet the demands of the modern world, more specifically how companies are striving to appeal to the next generation. This includes their focus on fostering diversity and inclusion, as well as their commitment to sustainability, ensuring that they are not only eco-friendly but also more representative of the communities they serve.
Being part of the Purpose Coalition Student Ambassador Programme has allowed me to witness how organisations are redefining their values and practices to create a workforce that is both innovative and socially responsible. During my time as an ambassador, I have heard from a variety of organisations including the Co-op, E.ON, Curtins and Enterprise Mobility.
One of my favourite experiences with the Purpose Coalition was my trip to Parliament. This trip was a great opportunity for me as it allowed me to network with employers, policymakers, and other academics. Through this opportunity, I had the chance to hear from industry leaders who are actively campaigning for social mobility and ensuring that younger generations not only acquire the necessary skills but also have access to meaningful career opportunities.
