Pertemps are working with local employers in the West Midlands to help breach skills gaps

Transcript:

The Rt Hon Wendy Morton MP:

So today I've called into Pertemps here in Aldridge and I've had a really good conversation with a whole group of members of staff from their team. And what we've been discussing is skills and the need to continually look at the skills dynamic.

What are the skills that we need locally here in our communities, more broadly across the region and as a country and making sure we have the skills for today, but also to make sure that we're looking ahead to the future.

What are the skills for the jobs that are going to come with the green economy, with AI, with R &D?

What we've also been discussing is some of the skill shortages that we have and that we see locally and what the work of organisations such as Pertemps are doing to try and work with local employers to meet those skill shortages and where there is a demand for skills and people to go and work with these organisations.
