Nick Forbes and Anne Milton host ‘Road to the General Election’ seminar exploring the role of healthcare in Britain

With a general election in the coming months, it is more important than ever for organisations to understand the changing political landscape and policy agenda.

As part of the Purpose Coalition and Breaking Down Barriers Commission’s ongoing ‘Road to the General Election’ series, former Member of Keir Starmer’s Shadow Cabinet Nick Forbes and former Minister for Public Health Rt Hon Anne Milton led a Health Seminar with leading Purpose Coalition healthcare organisations, businesses and universities.

Attendees included NHS Trusts from across the country, organisations such as Ramsay Health Care UK and E. ON, and universities such as Northumbria, Liverpool Hope University and Solent University and the University of Worcester.

The discussion explored the key challenges in healthcare, Labour’s ‘Health Mission’ - being led by Labour’s Shadow Health Secretary Wes Streeting, who joined the Purpose Coalition for a major health event last year, and how Britain can look at a new approach to healthcare, in a climate with little additional public funding where new thinking will be required.

In the coming weeks and months, the Purpose Coalition is hosting a huge range of Ministers and Shadow Minister for in-depth discussion sessions with Coalition Members, exploring the ever changing policy landscape. Upcoming events include Alistair Strathern MP, Andrew Western MP, Dr. Alan Whitehead MP, Ashley Dalton MP and more.
