Launching Partnerships with Purpose
New initiative will develop key partnerships to tackle public policy challenges
A new initiative has been launched by the Purpose Coalition to tackle key public policy challenges through impactful partnerships.
Partnerships with Purpose (PwP) will be led by a Taskforce made up of Purpose Coalition members and chaired by Purpose Coalition Engagement Director, Lord Walney. The Taskforce aims to:
Develop cross sector social impact partnerships
Showcase successful social impact partnerships
Analyse achievements and challenges in partnership building
Potential areas of focus include mental health & wellbeing, justice and rehabilitation, youth opportunity & skills, health inequalities and digital inclusion.
Over the next few months, the Taskforce will spearhead the establishment of key partnerships, across both the public and private sector, with the launch in the summer of a report featuring best practice and progress so far.
Lord Walney, former Labour MP and senior special adviser to the then Labour Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, said:
“Partnership is key to everything we do at the Purpose Coalition. Our new Partnerships with Purpose initiative will bring together like-minded leaders and organisations from a range of sectors that are committed to delivering real tangible social impact for the benefit of their customers, colleagues and communities. Pooling our expertise and experience, we can identify both gaps and develop solutions to address them.
“In our work so far, we are already seeing how key partnerships are driving positive social impact. Rail company, Southeastern, for example, is partnering with Kent & Medway NHS & Social Care Partnership Trust, a leading mental health provider, to support the mental health of local communities. Having a forum where examples from initiatives such as these can be shared will not only promote good practice more widely, it will also inspire others to consider where they could make the most difference.”
