The Purpose Coalition has an established track record on shaping the responsible business agenda and we are now excited to be launching our Good Growth Taskforce chaired by Lord Walney. This will be led by our group of business leaders from Britain’s best businesses to develop recommendations for the next government and policy makers on how more can be done to support growth across the UK.
The Good Growth Taskforce, which brings together entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders from across the country, was announced as part of the Purpose Coalition's 2024 programme to develop recommendations on how businesses can shape the agenda up the general election and beyond.
The taskforce’s aim is to make the UK the best place in the world to grow a business. That means identifying what high-growth businesses are doing to succeed and how this could be better supported across the country.

It is good to hear but it must be led by those who know most - our entrepreneurs and busienss leaders running Britain’s fastest growing businesses. By sharing best practice, engaging policymakers, removing barriers and creating a better support system our work will put growth at the very top of the agenda.”

The shifting political landscape with a growing inclination towards the Labour Party, signals a pivotal moment for organisations to who will be key to growing the economy over the next decade. Regardless who win the election it is vital the positive role of our best businesses is front and centre.
In this general election year, we are putting the spotlight on the dynamic role of rapidly expanding regional companies in driving the UK's economic future. For both parties ‘growth’ is key, with both Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer and Conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak setting out their respective missions on growing the economy in a fair way.
The Purpose Coalition has an established track record on working with Britain’s best businesses and we are now excited to be launching our Good Growth Taskforce. This will be led by Lord Walney and our group of business leaders to develop recommendations for the next government of any political colour - and for industry - to deliver the solutions Britain needs to back it’s most exciting and fastest growing businesses.
We are also working with all of our corporate partners to produce their own reports on their own growth stories and the good that does for their regions and the wider economy. This will ensure that in the run up to the general election, and beyond, their message on how they are an engine for good growth and the positive benefits that results in for thier colleagues, customers and communities is clear.
In a year of what could be significant change we are ensuring that responsible businesses are at the front of this important agenda, delivered by our cross-party team.
