Anchor, England’s largest provider of specialist housing and care for those in later life, today announced its partnership with the Purpose Health and Social Care Coalition to produce an Impact Report into its work.
In partnership with former Public Health Minister, Rt Hon Anne Milton, and former Education Secretary, Rt Hon Justine Greening, the Impact Report will examine Anchor’s work against a framework of 14 Purpose Goals. These focus on key life stages from early years to adulthood as well as the barriers to people getting on, such as good health and wellbeing, and can help identify the gaps where access to opportunity is limited.
Anchor has a 60-year history of providing services to older people. It provides housing to rent and to buy and more than 100 care homes across almost 1,700 sites and operates in more than 85% of local councils in England.
Anchor is a not-for-profit business and aims to reinvest into its properties and services to build more homes and innovate for the future, creating communities that support its residents. It is also an advocate for them, listening to the concerns of older people and responding to their needs. With more than 9,000 employees, it encourages learning and development in a diverse workforce.
